  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to maintain store standards, make sure everything is on sale, checking waste and also scanning it off. I make sure all my staff are following procedures correctly and also making sure they give 100% customer service.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed communication skills as I was very shy and quiet when I first started and I have now come out my shell. Also learnt customer service skills as it was my first job and only really had basic skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed the programme now that we are with lifetime training, as my apprenticeship was a bit all over the place to start but it’s much better and we also get tablets to work on which helps a lot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very organised because everything is done online, your training keeps in contact with you and they are all only a phone call away if your struggling with any projects or assignments.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a lot of support of my store manager and area manager, who have helped me every step of the way. They have also give me the time I’ve needed to just sit in the back and get on with my work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have Received a lot of support from my trainer as they have pushed me every step of the way. I have had maternity leave and health issues which they supported me through.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Each assignment within the qualification let’s you read and learn about something new every day and also looking into the history and background of Aldi. So you know lot more about your job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not really, we do have charity events on at time to time but nothing that’s really taken my interest.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • There a great company to work for, with a great pay as well even when your on the apprenticeship.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • Don’t expect to just sit on a till, your job is literally every job role you could have in a retail sector! Always keeps you on the go and your never bored coming to work!
