PMO Analyst Review

I am apart of the PMO team on my project. This includes on-boarding and off-boarding people from my project. I also have event organisation roles such as helping with the office move, Christmas party and corporate lunches. My role includes lots of written and verbal communication as my team are the key members for other members questions.

This apprenticeship was my first professional job. I have learnt many skills such has problem solving with the events I have helped organise. also dealing with pressure for when any events go wrong it is my responsibility to fix. I have also developed existing skills such as written communication as I use email daily.

in all honesty I have my degree apprenticeship. I get one day off a week to focus on my university work which is very helpful! I was also lucky to be placed on a good programme for the other four days of the week. I do find it hard to balance both work and University. Maybe more than just one day a week for university would be more helpful to balance both.

It is a organised programme. we have good staff for support in UK Students team. they are all very approachable and knowledgeable for all questions. they also get us students involved in extra projects outside our work roles which I enjoy, such as helping at Apprenticeship open days and Apprenticeship fairs.

I am lucky to be apart of a team where they are very supportive. my manager is very approachable and I am happy about this. however the mentor scheme is the best. It is great to have someone with my CGI work as well as help with University work. My mentor is also very approachable with good knowledge in my university subject.

The University of Winchester support is good, however you have to keep asking for the help. I think the teachers could reply sooner on their emails and I feel that some of the teachers are not approachable for your questions. Again Uk Students at CGI and my mentor give great support.

The module Work Based Studies is defiantly helpful for my role as it based around our apprenticeships. The IT/technology modules are also good because I have had no back ground knowledge in these subjects but is useful because I work in a IT company. Business modules I enjoy the most as that is my key subject however this helps the least, but still 100% helps in my work role.

I am a part of CGI's SSC (Sports and Social Club) which is amazing. it brings all CGI employees together to go to events such as Brunch, theatre, golf and many more. I am very happy that CGI have this club, which is only £5 a month and you get great discount!

As a young person joining full time work, CGI is great because it offer so many Apprenticeships, Graduate schemes and Placements. CGI have great Benefits such as pension/shares/SSC (spoken about above) and many more. Which allows you to meet many new employees who you would not normally meet e.g. in a different project or office.

Learn CGI's Values for the interview. Be confident, get involved and ask questions in the interview. Research into the company and truly understand what the company does and also know about the benefits that the company have and how that will effect you. Always talk positive about your self (event if you are not Tec based like me)
