  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I start work at 7 am and I manage a team of 10 selectors I give them a brief before they start work telling them how long the shift is and what the case count is and what tasks everyone are doing through out the day i do the intake and then i finish the shift off by completing all of the office work

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills during my time doing the apprenticeship I have learnt how to sue my initiative as well as improving my communication skills, people skills, problem solving skills and a lot of ICT skills and learning how to use the aldi systems which includes receiving, shipping and MMS

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme as I think that it has given me a lot of opportunities within aldi and has not only given me a job but it has given me a career, i have also had the chance to meet a lot of people when working on different departments

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think that the programme could be more organised but everything works for a reason and that it how Aldi runs and it has worked for many years now and I can imagine Aldi will only grow and expand in the future to come adopting better organised programmes to benefit the staff.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, everyone around me is always asking how I am and if I need any help with anything, no matter how big or small the issue is I have always got someone to help me whether its issues with work or personal issues

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I don't receive a lot of support but it is an independent task, if i need help i can go and ask them for help they visit once a month to come and either do a Q&A or an observation within my job. They are only a phone call away though

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives me a lot of questions to ask that i probably normally wouldn't think about asking, this way i get a lot of answers which helps my knowledge within my role and with aldi knowledge, and this helps overall with my experience to perform better within my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a lot extra things for us to get involved with we are always trying to raise money for charities such as teenage cancer trust and this means that i have to help out organising raffles and charity car washes or guess how many sweets are in the jar or football games

  • 9a. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because there are a lot of opportunities within aldi is not only a job its a career and you can work your way up so easily going from the bottom to the top and Aldi is constantly growing so there is security as well as a constant job to come to work for


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • To make sure you are being yourself and being honest with everything you say because that's all that Aldi ask for because that way they will do anything to help you out, Also dress smart and make a good first impression when going for an interview, as well as being well prepared
