Maintenance Technician Engineer Review

Job Title: Maintenance Technician Engineer Daily Tasks: Learning how the line works and how the manufacturing process is controlled/improved. My projects include trying to improve the work methods within the plant and keep the line running, everyday I am learning more about both the hands on type of exercises and the technical parts.

From the Apprenticeship, I was able to complete and acquire: Level 3 PEO qualification Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering And currently I am in the process of obtaining: A level 4 Higher National Diploma in Engineering Level 3 NVQ qualification I have also learned all sorts of training such as cherry picker training, first aid training, hazard training, germanlanguage training.

As far as my expectations were before i joined, the programme exceeded beyond them, i enjoyed making new work friends and working with new people, and also learning about the company's past. I enjoyed all the challenging tasks that I had overcome and I look forward to the challenges in the future.

I feel that all the jobs I completed were appreciated by both my training advisor and my placement manager, I feel that the company keeps the apprentices challenged and learning as we're never left with nothing to do.

Some parts or placements of the factory were well organised, how ever there are some parts that seem to lack the same organisation and structure as the other, leaving the apprentice to find something to do for themselves.

The support given to me from the training providers allowed me to pass my classes with high grades, any problems were dealt with swiftly and promptly.

From the company, I feel that i am supported whenever I need it, I was never treated badly and I was trusted with jobs that I could control.

Compared to other apprenticeships within the area, the salary i was recieving was more than generous and met all of my costs with some spending money left over.

The company likes to spread the word about BMW group and MINI, as apprentices, there are loads of opportunities to talk to students in secondary schools and primary schools and give them an insight of what its like to work for the company.

Because at the end of the apprenticeship, all of the qualifications are worth the 3-4 years.

Be patient and try your best, if you struggle then dont be afraid to work with each other as apprentices.
