I create communications for internal colleagues to keep them engaged and enjoy coming to work. I create communication campaigns, articles, videos and newsletters. I reply to emails and support different functions of the business. I go to lots of different meetings to find out about things going on and work with different people to figure out the best way to communicate.
yes. I get to meet so many different people from all over the business that work in different areas of the business so I get to learn about the people as well as the areas of the business. I’ve developed my communication skills massively too. I’ve also become more creative as we have to think of unique ideas all the time.
I do not enjoy it. The apprenticeship programme is not well structured. My assessor keeps changing and we have no structured learning time. I get set all the work and then I have to teach myself the content. I’d much prefer some set up teaching sessions or even going to college.
Not at all. There is never any set meeting with my assessor and she’s really busy so it’s hard to get regular meetings. I also have had my assessor changed once during my apprenticeship. The units aren’t really explained and I teach myself the content to complete the apprenticeship.
Lots. My team and the apprenticeship team are really supportive and helpful. My manager always asks me how the apprenticeship is going and is happy to go through tasks and try to teach me. The apprenticeship are good too as they are always interested in any feedback that we give and try to act on it.
Not a lot. Had my assessor changed already. My new assessor has too many apprentices and so I hardly get to see her. The meetings are very sporadic and so it is hard to fit time in for them. My assessor is really nice but I don’t get any teaching.
Not at all. I can use a few examples from my job on the apprenticeship tasks but I look at them as separate things. I never have enough time to complete the apprenticeship as I put my day to day job tasks first. I also find it hard to be motivated.
No but there are many offered. We have team days and function days where we can mix with different colleagues. We have a netball club and running club. We have a key focus on wellbeing and so we aren’t trying to offer more extra curricular activities. Our team also do lunch regularly.
Yes
TUI are really supportive and my colleagues are really friendly. Everyone is really keen to help and give advice. There’s also really clear room for growth and progression. The company really supports wellbeing and promotes wellbeing activities as well as being really flexible with hours and working from home.
Remember the TUI values - Trusted, Unique and Inspiring. Be confident and know about TUI. We want to be the best loved holiday company so we want to hire people who are interested in this and interested in bringing this out for customers. Be interested in learning and finding out more.
