• Supported the pharmacist by preparing scripts, gathering medications and labelling products, both on wards and in the dispensary • Helped to maintain an organised environment and classify documentations • Preformed date checks on medications and placed medications in the correct location • Completed requisitions, returns and made and received orders • On a rota basis, was assigned as a receptionist to signpost medical professionals both on the phone and physically present, and retrieve medications for patients
Improvement on communication abilities- providing information to colleagues on a time pressure as well as patients and their relatives. Provision of a professional service, ensuring that they left feeling confident. Team work skills, had to work of individuals in many different roles and be aware of the legal responsibilities of each. Developed and learnt abilities to preform particular tasks relevant to the job.
I have enjoyed other jobs more, as I felt that I was engaging in repetitive tasks frequently and was also at times left without something to do so had to seek out tasks from colleges. I found the work environment to be positive however and gained relevant experience which was useful for my future career.
It was well organised, I was given clear instruction on what my role was to be for that day and was also given opportunities to gain additional experience. Overall I received experience in most of the available areas which was beneficial for my future career and enjoyed the rotational nature of the job.
The support I received from staff was excellent, I always felt that I could ask anyone any questions I had and the staff often went out of their way to help to train and teach me which I greatly appreciated. My manager was also supportive and enabled me to gain additional experience which was great.
I did not receive formal training so therefore did not receive any support in this manner, however I do acknowledge the support I received in the experience and learning that was imparted upon me which was beneficial for my degree programme, this was taken into my account by both my employer and colleges.
I did not receive any qualifications on this job nor receive any formal training but the training I did receive aided my ability to preform tasks on my job as many of them I was not aware of how to complete and they were explained well to me which was good.
There was no extra-curricular activities that I was aware of that I could get involved, they may have existed but this was not made known to me as I was only working there over the summer so it would not have been worth the time to get involved in these as I couldn't continue them when I returned to my degree.
Yes
I felt the experience taught me a lot and enabled me to develop skills which were relevant to my career path. My colleges were greatly helpful to me in this manner and there was a beneficial learning environment as well as a friendly atmosphere of working together and helping each other.
I found the application process to be slightly tedious and the interview difficult, they were looking for specific answers though the interviewers aided me with this as the questions was unclear in its wording. I did not have any assessment days. I enjoyed my experience and feel that this employer is fair.
