  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role is interacting with range of different department, customers and colleagues as well as building confidence, skills and knowledge within the fast growing business and learn to recognize individual needs. We even have our own personal tutor who guides us throughout the apprenticeship scheme helping us with our coursework which we have one day off the phones per week.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have definitely grown confidence by straight away recognizing the needs of individual members when they have broken down at the roadside and knowing their entitlement that they are covered onto their membership. I'm even able to face new challenges in my day to day role by facing complaints from members and able to solve them quickly and efficiently.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy how we work effectively as a team and we all get a long like a family. Through out my experience I have had a lot of support from the day I have stepped into this company there is always someone by your side to offer help when needed This programme has definitely help me boost up my career as I'm aiming to get my customer service qualification but at the same time taking up the experience of being a call handler by learning on the job.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well organise as we are given opportunity to work Monday to Friday 4 days on the phones 1 day off the phones to get on with our college work and reflect on what skills and knowledge we gain being on the job. This opportunity is not just getting the qualification it is also getting the experience knowing how it feels to work as a teleworker.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support I receive is endless my managers/team leaders is always happy to help as they are very approachable and even if they are busy with meeting we do have other managers or floor walkers around to give us a helping hand. even within my team everyone is happy to help and support each other no matter what the situation maybe.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I found the programme very organised as my personal tutor who comes on our off phones day always do a regular 1 to1 giving us opportunity to tell our tutor what we are struggling on or how well we are doing so far and areas we need to improve on I find the feedback helpful as it give me more motivation to succeed throughout this apprenticeship scheme and hopefully work my way to the top of getting a permanent job.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that while doing my college work I'm able to search in depth more about my company and expanding my knowledge on type of membership or cover members are entitled to and to even explore more of what other departments do as it bring more confident knowing this is how my company operates and give good customer service and researching around customer service help me enhance more to make my members satisfied with the service provided to them and hope I meet their needs.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The shift and days I am currently working Monday to Friday 8am to 15:45pm help me have more time to spend time with my family over the weekend to catch up with my friends after work. It even gives me time to get home and to either read or watch TV.

  • 9a. Would you recommend The AA to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The AA has developed skills that I never knew I was capable of the confidence and skills has helped me be more independent determined to reach to the top of my goal and the team I am with are such a amazing team as everyone at the AA are so helpful and I could not ask for a better team to work with. The AA as a whole has been amazing since day one I started this company opens a lot of doors and especially for young ones they give them opportunity to boost there career and if they are interested in customer service this is the place to be.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The AA?
  • The advice I would give is if your ambitious, self motivated, confident and a team player and really interested in a customer service role I would tell them to apply because AA is the right place for you to apply as you are stepping in the right direction to boost your career. Every young individual has a role to play and if you a hard worker you can go far with your career.
