1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in Audit & Assurance and tend to be based at client site and am therefore in a client-facing role.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, have been able to develop my skills in leading meetings and computer software

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

In general, the teams in work with are nice. I would say that the company culture is very hierarchical and less senior members of the team are not always treated as they should be

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program is not well structured in terms of college and exam preparation which I think is due to a lack of communication from the EY exam team. There is often confusion around when exams are, if we have college or home-study, and booking of exams etc.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I fell that issues and problems are not always taken seriously. I have had a number of suggestions put forward by Occupation Health and HR due to illness, and none of these were put in place by my employer

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive good tuition from Kaplan, however online self-study seems to be being implemented more which works less well as a number of people have been failing exams due to this

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me a better understanding of the work that I'm doing and allows me to use my initiative more as I can trust my own knowledge

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The department I work in has a number of socials which I try my best to attend. I find it difficult to make commitments to other extra curricular activities due to the number of hours I work and trying to include time to study for exams

9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?

9b. Why?

I feel that the School Leaver programme is still quite new and so it's not run particularly well. I would potentially recommend EY to someone who is applying to the graduate scheme s this seems to be run much more effectively

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?

I would advise going to university first and applying as a graduate
