  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is a first year auditor, what I will do I a day changes depending on the client I work on, or what work needs to be completed. The work that is most common for me would be testing of items to gain assurance that accounts have been prepared correctly

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt more skills then I can remember, such as soft skill which would be communication and how you interact with different people. As well as technical skills such as better understanding of what I need to perform my audit work and how I work with others in a work environment

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the program as it has given me a new perspective on the world and has enabled me to accomplish more that I thought I could. It has also given me the skills and tools I need in order to have not just a job but a career

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is very organised. We are give schedules well in advance of what we will be doing and we have a range of contacts that we can speak to in order to get better clarification. We also have some flexibilities with the program as well o better accommodate peoples life's

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We receive a good amount of support from a range of people. There is a dedicated support team for the apprenticeship who keep in contact and run events so we can drop by and ask them about things and get the support you need. You also get support from the teams you work on as well

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • In regards to the support we receive from the training provider. they give us the standard classroom leaning experience as well as additional material ranging from online sessions to test papers we can use as additional resources on their website. We also have a dedicated training provider lesion who we can speak to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification is fundamental to the work we do it gives us a better understanding of what we are doing and why we do it. If we did not have the qualification we would not be able to do the job we have been given. It is paramount to work we do

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Work provides us with a large number of networks we can get involved in ranging from sports groups, religious network's to professional networks. There are such a large number of them that its very difficult to say if there is not a network for the intended group. It also helps you to get to know other people who you share a common bond with

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend EY as it is a great palace to work, the amount of different people you work with means you will always be learning something new. There are a huge number of different roles to work in so there is something for you to do. The support networks also help you to get a better understanding of yourself and others as well


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Be yourself as they want individuals, so just relax and enjoy the experience. Also talk about things you do find interesting and have a passion about as this shows them what you are about and what you actually do find interesting. Otherwise just enjoy the experience and try to have a positive attitude
