  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within CGI currently is to look at test executions run by my fellow members and do reviews for each and every run of them so that they can be sure that everything is done correctly so that if there is any issues by the time the client sees the test executions results everything is all right.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned quite a few skills working within CGI such as improving my communication skills and learning to speak up for myself as well as technical skills such as testing, sql, oracle and how the systems I am working with work on a deeper level which can help me in the future

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I can struggle at times on my programme as some support isn't always given when asked for or can take months to receive for example I've been asking for assigned time to do assignments for close to 6 months and am only now just receiving responses other than we're looking into it

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • CGI and QA have the habit of not communicating with each other unless as a last resort so I can end up not knowing things I should have know for months far later than need be and any issues I have can take awhile to be shared across to organisations

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a decent amount of support from all levels of my employer its just that I am one member and they have many others they are working with so I can get lost in the system because other things take priority and I totally understand that this happens and that the world doesn't revolve around me I just would like more support

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training courses can either be great or terrible for example I had an exam recently that I had no idea about the contents until starting the 1 week course and even then only about 20% of what was taught showed up on the test leading me to fail the test.

    4/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role is a testing role for a dev qualification meaning that anything I do learn cannot be put into use unless it is in my own time, I am currently searching for a dev role within the company so heres hoping with that but otherwise no my qualification doesn't help me

    2/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • If there is one thing CGI does correctly is extra curricular activities such as a social club where members can meet for films or for meals and there was even a Christmas dinner arranged by the members where we caught up and had a meal together during the holiday period

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend CGI to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • CGI has amazing benefits whether its the expense policy or their benefits policy is general which can lead to amazing results for the average joe and CGI provide a bonus to people who refer there friends which gives even more incentive to recruit friends and family which can lead to them doing the same

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
  • Be totally honest in all you do when in all parts of the interview stages as you can come off as a better person and become more likely to gain a position than if you were to brag without anything to back up what you say, it is also recommended to be calm and confident
