  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role consists of repairs and looking after hgv vehicles. On a day to day basis I inspect hgv vehicles, service them and also repair them. I also look after the workshop aswell and assist my fellow work collegues when needed. I also work on the fiat work vans when needed.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt lots of new skills and also developed existing skills throughout my full apprenticeship. I have learnt to be good with my time keeping as well. Also I have learnt how to deal with problems while under pressure. Also I have became a more confident individual while working.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy working as a hgv technician. I always knew when I was younger that I would work in the motor trade. I have always been interested in this type of work as my step dad is a hgv technician himself and I always been interest in fixing things.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say my apprenticeship programme is well organised and structured. I feel this way because they have always supported me in my full apprentice ship with everything and whenever I needed help I would always get full support and there was never any problems with anything on there end.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support off my employer, if I ever have any problems or a worried about anything they are always there. They also do apprentice meetings every month to show me what aspects I need to develop more on and they also do yearly reviews and the end of each year of my apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When I was down Bristol college to do my course I receive a lot of support off them and also receive support off skillnet. If I am needing help with any of my course work someone is always there to assist me. I also receive support at my work I could phone one of my collegues to ask them questions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my training provider supports my all the ways and assists my whenever needed. If I am ever stuck with anything I could phone my skillnet provider and ask him any questions about my qualification. I feel that this helps me to perform a lot better in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In my workplace we sometimes organise nightouts every few months. I feel it would be a good thing if my company started letting everyone get involved in more extra curricular activities. For example book up go karting or even get involved in charity work and do walks or something along they lines.

  • 9a. Would you recommend MOTUS Commercials to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Imperial commericals is one of the biggest companies in the motor industry and I feel they are one of the best. I could not give any negatives towards the company. They have supported me full at the start to the end of my full apprentice and I thank them for it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MOTUS Commercials?
  • I would highly recommend anyone to apply for imperial commericals. I would say that you cannot be lazy and have to be fully interested and put in a lot of work and effort if someone wanted to work for the company. I would also suggest that there is no point in applying for this role if you aren't interested.
