  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy learning and obtaining new knowledge. It has practical benefits with my personal development and within my current job role. The MDP courses have been massively helpful in addition to the online fuse trading provided to me by lifetime training. It’s also helpful meeting other apprentices completing the same programme

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has been very well organised and structured. I have plenty of notice when my courses will be and time off with my employer to attend. My trainer attends my workplace and this is always arranged at a mutually convienient time. The structure was a bit difficult to following in the beginning and I could have done with some one to one time to map this out for me

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Currently at the cricketers where I work we don’t have any extra curricular activities. There is a large percentage of young staff working for us and they have became a really close group in and outside work. They are always meeting up for drinks. Sometimes playing football and are playing a holiday together

  • 9a. Would you recommend Greene King to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that the emphasis on cutting team hours and wages is ridiculously difficult for staff to cope with. The new team hours system just seems to want to take unpaid breaks from staff. Sometimes breaks still not being taken and I know the company line is to plan better to ensure breaks. This doesn’t always work expially when there are constrictions with how many staff are in the rota in the first place. I think they pretend to care about staff but I’m reality it’s just profit

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Greene King?
  • Be prepared to work very hard. Take any training opertuniites that you can and make sure that if you have been stopped money for a break you take it or complain. Be prepared to work when u don’t want to and struggle to have a social life. One Benefit is staff discount so use that
