  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Policy and Compliance, predominantly project work. On a day to day basis, I look at tickets related to performance and help people in ensuring they complete their forms adn support line managers. On my 20% off the job days, I work on my e-learning for my apprenticeship and complete reflective journals

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. Communicating effectively is one I have developed from off the job training and on the job experience. i.e. knowing what motivates people and how to communicate with them in a way that resonates. Time management is one I have developed as it was a skill I struggled with

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The learning provider makes the learning experience tedious. E-learning is not the most effective way to retain information. However it is good in the sense that we learn what we need to before the workshop. The slides from the provider are not to a good enough standard like the provider of my previous apprenticeship (there arent enough references etc). The assignment questions are repetitive and the templates we "must" use are restrictive and inefficient

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • First time running the programme. The provider and the business need closer interaction so we get a better learning experience as currently it feels disjointed and that there is no regular dialogue. I will ensure feedback is given to the business who can ensure that the provider reflect an expected standard

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get my 20% off the job time and support from my line manager as well as others. People are more than happy to give their time and support me in understanding new areas for my work. E.g. using information in HR, my manager has asked me to put in time so we can understand the assessment.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot of information which is good. But in a lot of different areas which is a mightmare - very disorganised and disjointed. e.g. why do I need to look on; CIPD, PDG Community, OneFile and Enable? It is all very confusing. The communication needs urgently improving. Interserve on the other hand are incredibly helpful!! DPG are not

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Its a must have qualification for HR but disheartening to hear from others who have the qualification that it hasnt helped in their career progression. I feel like it is knowledge for the sake of knowledge at this moment in time, often there is no relevant research or references in the work we have to learn which makes me demotivated

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No -not at work due to my 2hr door to door commute - I dont want to drag my day out longer than it needs to be. I mostly do extra-curricular fun stuff outside of work. I do my networking professionally in my own time if they are external to the business.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nestle to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Good company that genuinely cares about its people and has great values and respect at the core. Food and drink is something everyone needs to survive so in an economically uncertain climate it is a safe place to be compared to the likes of [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and demand elastic industries.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • Work hard and be prepared to work hard - Everyone is very switched on Do your research - the company - are you aligned with the values? Do you like the culture? these are key questions you need to ask yourself Relax in the interview - They're only people and they dont want to catch you out. Just be yourself
