  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • We were able to do fun and exciting activities that not only got us the qualification but it also helped us develop invaluable skills. Everyday was exciting and never boring. We did fun activities. We did have to sit through a PowerPoint once or twice but it still didn't feel like a boring class.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I feel that EY really valued us in the workplace. We were provided with lunch everyday and there was always someone you could talk to. Even though we were teens and we were not permanent employees we always felt included and a part of the work place. All the staff were nice and friendly.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was well organised. There were never any issues. The first day was an induction day, it was really helpful to know where the different things are and to get an explanation of what we were going to do. The training was excellent as we were able to walk away with qualification. There was always someone to help support us.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • To get the qualifications we had to fill in log books. They were basically like little diaries. You just had to write about different activities and skills you were able to develop through those activities. The log books did come with a little advice to direct you a bit to make sure you answered the question with the right information.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The people who run the programme were really supportive. Having a mentor as well meant that there was always someone there. We were also given mentors that we are able to contact and meet up with after the work experience programme had ended. This was really helpful as my mentor was able to give me help regarding almost everything Uni applications, school, work you can really talk to them about anything and get advice for things that maybe you can't get with other people such as a certain career your mentor might actually work in.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I think I got paid above minimum wage so that was nice. Free lunch was an amazing bonus because you didn't need to go out and get something to eat. You were still allowed to go out and get something but it was nice to not have to go out everyday.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, the staff told us about all the different events going on in the city centre and we get invited to company activities and events. It's always nice to see everyone again. It's never boring. The company events are always really engaging and never feel boring. These events also help you with your networking skills so you are always learning something new with EY.

  • 9. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It really is an amazing work experience programme. You get qualifications and you get paid as well. Not only that but the actual programme itself is amazing. There are really no downsides or disadvantages to be honest. If you need anything there is always someone to talk to. The people are so nice.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • The application process is a tiny bit longer than others but that just because they need more details so you can get paid. This programme is really amazing and you would be missing out if you didn't apply. I really enjoyed the programme it definitely was an amazing experience.
