  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • A 3 week experience, which was highly inspiring. I was able to learn more about the financial services, soft skills and able to grow my networking. Initially you are put through a fun and exciting Team Leader course, including skills such as presentation, communication etc. During the last week you are able to specialise in a financial services where you get a more hands on experience working at EY.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Definitely. Sitting the Level 2 CMI Team Leadership qualification enabled me to learn and digest a large amount of useful knowledge that I can bring to my future and general life. The teaching standards are excellent and your essentially guaranteed to pass if you put the work in. Fantastic experience would highly recommend.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The first thing you notice at EY is the vast diversity of people and as a person of culture myself, it was very easy to settle in. The staff at EY are so supportive and chatty and with past work experiences it can feel like your being used but not at EY! You are treated extremely well. In the down-times they have a games room which includes a table tennis table and fifa and unlimited supplies of hot chocolate which is always great. At some points I found the coursework relatively easy which gave me spare time to kill but other than that it was excellent.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • There is a lot of support by the people at EY, during the programme everyone gets mentored and given constructive feedback which is always very important and on the whole it is clear that EY are very supportive of my career ambitions and goals and were able to give me a better insight towards what I want to do in the future.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very organised the first weeks you are put through a intensive learning course to help you pass the Level 2 Team Leading course and never at one point did I feel like I was wasting time everything was perfectly organised and every second there was something interesting going on.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The teaching is very through and for every module of the task you have a mentor who aids you through the module and also a great opportunity to net work. Again the programme flows very easily with a great team of teachers and support staff at no point will you ever feel alone or not being helped.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You come to realise that EY are always with you during the course but even after the course. I had attended a few invitational events after the EY course and they constantly email you about really exciting things and potential events that is good to keep up with, never had i ever been sent spam.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I had done my work experience at the offices in Canary Wharf and I commute from London which was not bad at all considering you get paid around (450-600), cant think of the exact figure off the top of my head. However if travel is a issue please speak to one of the staff, one of my friends on the course had her travel costs covered so there is no need to worry about costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes definitely as I mentioned earlier they are always keen on keeping you engaged with the company, and always send emails with a lot of opportunities so keep an eye on your inbox. I was lucky enough to attend the School to Work coalition which was an eye opening opportunity for me.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It has helped me so much in my future after attending such as university applications and even job opportunities its a great experience to put on a CV.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Just be yourself as cliche as it may sound, I personally think my personality was the reason I was accepted on the course. Other than that all I can say is good luck!
