  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • at rolls royce every day is differant as we learn all the areas within the woodshop, daily tasks involve production of the cars within the area, helping other associates with jobs. we also get group projects with the other apprentices.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learnt new computer skills during my time in planning - autocad program, we have also done an excel training course which helps with my skills. i have learnt to deal and manage problems that occur in day to day work. we will come away with a level 3 furniture manufacturing certificate.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i really enjoy working at rolls royce, every day i get to learn new skills and develop my learning. the team and people are all very supportive and keen to help. the company itself is well managed and we all get to have a say on what can be improved if needs be

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BMW Group?
  • i think we get good recgonition being an apprentice here, we get good and constant feedback from our managers and college lectures, as well as other activities, for example trips away for dealer launches and new car reveals. we also get involed with some of the bigger projects when we are in planning.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • induction was good however i would of liked to of seen more of the factory, the training is good and quite consistent and we are always asked about it. very good support whenever is needed. the actual structure of the apprentiship could be improved because in some cases when starting new areas they havnt got the right equipment for us to use.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • support is good and often, we have monthly reviews where we can discuss any topics and go over things we have done. any problems we have are sorted out very quikly and proffessionally. the team are always keen to support us when we need it. i enjoyed the training and was well managed.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i recieved good support throughout from everybody here at work, the managers are great at sorting any problems out. the hr team are very useful however somtimes can be a bit of a wait when solving problems. accessibility could be improved especially on the computers as we dont get the programs we need straight away. general attitude is good and support is there whenever.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • salary for the apprentiship is okay, the nice thing is that it goes up every year. travel costs are covered when doing over certain miles for college which helps.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • we get alot of oppportunities working here, things like famlily fun days, dealer events, charity work.

  • Yes

  • there a great company for work with a huge range of differant jobs, good future careers and good company for moving up high and forward.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • be honest and keen, be confident and show willing whether its an interview or apllication process
