  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The role seems to be a mixture of deputy store manager and store assistant.

    7/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Too many to count to be honest, new situations pop up very often with a lot of different situations to learn

    9/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it as much as anyone enjoys their job! :)

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • On a store management level it's all good

    8/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • With my provider going bust, to be replaced by a short succession of multiple different people from another company, only then to be told that I'm behind! Not really the store's fault, but whatever went on behind the scenes was an utter shambles.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I've received my certification, so I don't get any lol!

    6/10

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When I need emotional or work related support it's great, but STILL have not been afforded an equal level of opportunity as most other apprentices.

    5/10

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Excellent. 100% does the job

    9/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Everyone is quite social outside of work in my store

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Aldi to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Work is straightforward and simple, and the pay is excellent

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
  • You will need guts. In my store the work isn't too hard, but it is very much non stop, so if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen lol!
