My role includes checking off deliveries, working stock, working till, date checks, general store husbandry and giving excellent customer service
I have learnt how to manage my time a lot better, I have gained confidence talking to the general public, I have improved on my ability to act and think quickly in situations.
I have enjoyed all aspects of this programme, I have made new friends who push me to work to my full potential, I enjoy being active in my job as there is never a dull moment and the company felt very inviting to take me on with HQ invites and greetings to a exciting new career path.
I feel respected as an employee at Aldi, Management deal with any concerns I have and listen to everything I have to say.
My programme is all planned ahead of me, I have all the information that I need ready to hand online, I also have contact information provided to me if I ever have an enquiries or concerns about the programme. I also get regular meetings with my assessor to offer support and keep me up to date.
I get frequent meetings with my training provider where they provide me with guidance through out my programme, they have a really friendly attitude and support me every step of the way.
Aldi provide me with many options when it comes to support, they have a system which makes it easy to find out who I need to contact for different needs. They also do regular checks to make sure I am happy with the programme.
They offer a very competitive pay package for an apprentice but it doesn't reflect on the amount of work that you do. I would appreciate a higher pay package for the amount of work needed to run stores and the responsibilities I have. I am 20 years old and I am finding it difficult to pay for all my bills, such as running a car, paying towards a house and for food. Fortunately the pay does increase throughout the apprenticeship which will help with my living costs once I have got through the first year of this programme.
All though I haven't been with Aldi very long I have seen many events and activities outside of the workplace. I enjoy getting invited to socialise with my workmates not in a working environment as I feel I get to know them better.
Yes
Aldi offers a promising future for you, you gain the skills to become successful in a retail career with opportunities for promotion if you work for it.
Aldi is hard work but if you stick at it you will gain new friendships, skills and a new attitude to work hard. Be enthusiastic and have a strong interest to learn how the company works.
