  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a 360 Apprentice, studying towards my AAT Level 3 and 4, then going onto qualify as a chartered accountant. I am currently in the Audit placement of my course. I work day to day as an audit assistant and contribute valuable work to the whole client audit. I am in close contact with both junior and senior members of staff daily.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have passed both my Level 3 AAT exams so far and have undertaken a wide variety of internal training sessions. I have completed my AF1A course and I am continually being developed both personally and professionally daily.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my programme and love the culture and ethos that KPMG has. The core values are at the heart of everything KPMG do and this has been demonstrated to me even more since I have joined the firm.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by KPMG?
  • I get regular feedback and mentions of appreciation from managers and colleagues alike. They understand that I am new and may need more guidance than an experience accountant and are wanting to help me on my journey through the firm.

    10/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised with a clear structure. The studying side of the programme could be slightly better run as there have been a couple of hiccups relating to exams and course materials being incorrect.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training provider are always supportive and are available for discussion at any time.

    10/10

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • KPMG are extremely supportive and all the staff provide advice and guidance at every step of the journey.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My living costs have risen since working for KPMG however this is due to me moving away from home and being fully self sufficient. So if a 20 year old can live away from home to live in a city with no funding from parents then the salary must be sufficient.

    10/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are a great deal of extra curricular activities and I have participated in some of these opportunities already.

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • KPMG is a fantastic place to work and the opportunities for progression are endless.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
  • To be confident, to be yourself and to impress. A company as good as this will only take on the best applicants.
