  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The role involved general business administration tasks but also learning more about the departments I was in and picking up work in those areas, this gave me a good insight into areas such as projects, Human Resources, Planning etc.

  • The thing I liked most about this apprenticeship was it helped me gain confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I loved my programme, it was a great way to start with a big Company and gain the skills and experience you need to secure a permanent role at the end of your apprenticeship.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • I do feel valued but the company has had some difficult times which can you make feel as though people aren't always valued.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • everything is there, occasionally changes need to be made etc. but this can happen anywhere and as a programme is set over a number of years, changes have to be expected, so long as they are well managed, there is no issue.

  • excellent level of support.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Excellent, time off was provided for study, people in the department helped with anything I needed for my course and qualifications.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It was an above average salary for an apprenticeship with increments throughout the scheme.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I was involved in STEM events and schools visits, company awards dinners etc.

  • Yes

  • It is an excellent company to work for and provides a very good benefits package.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Take your time with the application, we get a lot of people apply every year so take the time to make it stand out.
