  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I completed a week-long placement in the tax department where initially I would learn about wealth and asset management and funds etc. before moving onto more practical activities involving these topics.

  • I believe I have further developed interpersonal skills (communication etc.) and key skills involving IT.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme very much, I found it to be a slightly more relaxed working environment than I anticipated, with the team being very welcoming and the work being an appropriate level.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I do, as I would find it hard for team members to trust someone on work experience with one of their various, key projects.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well, I think there is a good balance between more physical and one-to-one learnng and between online learning. There is also always someone on hand to assist you if required, which is a bonus when doing some work you are unfamiliar with.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The induction was useful to get my bearings, while the online learning sessions were very beneficial too.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As much as I required, the on-going support from team was great in getting to grips with the tasks I completed.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Very well, the only costs I encountered was the train in and lunch on a couple of days, as much was kindly provided and bought for me by members of the team.

  • There are many communities and groups within the firm, while there are also multiple other groups and teams on a social level.

  • 9. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • All members of staff I encountered were very helpful and welcoming, while the tasks I was given were at the correct level with a flexible time-frame to complete.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • The application process may be long and almost excessive, but the experience is very valuable.
