KPMG offer a rotational programme whereby you get put in different placements in different departments of the business, such as audit, tax and Advisory. Therefore, your day to day job will depend on what placement you are in. So far I have had placements in audit where I have gone to client sites and tested their TB figures. I have also had a placement in tax where I have had exposure to flexible benefit schemes.

During my time at KPMG so far, I have gained the following skills: networking; client facing skills; presentation skills; internal training in tax & audit; communication skills i.e. constructing emails. I am also studying towards AAT L3.

I enjoy the programme very much. You get good exposure to different areas of the business, meaning you can find out what you enjoy and what you dislike. The people & culture here is very positive & there are good perks such as a £3.20 lunch allowance. The social aspect is also good as we often go for team drinks.

I feel like a very valued member of KPMG, your work is appreciated by management and you can get rewarded for your work with gift cards & also a bonus at the end of the year.

Our programme has only been running for two years therefore there are areas for improvement, but these will come in time. Overall the programme is structured well and we got a week long induction and have good training and support.

Our training provider BPP offer us lots of support and training materials which are so helpful in helping pass exams. There are many different email addresses we can contact for all our different problems. The tutors are also really helpful and willing to stay behind after class to go through things we didn't understand.

KPMG give us lots of support in different areas, for example we have support in our different placements, support from the internal exams team and support from the apprenticeship programme managers.

KPMG pay above the living wage. Compared to other accountancy firms, it could be said that starting salary isn't as high, however, the pay rises are better than other firms and as you progress up, you will end up with a better pay than some other companies. The pay is enough to cover basic needs, with some surplus cash.

There are many opportunities outside KPMG to get involved with such as sports teams, going out for drinks and company events. KPMG have a box at the o2 and you can also get a few volunteering days, for example going into school and taking to students.

Because working at KPMG is very good, you get lots of perks & good support from everyone. There is a good culture and progression is also very likely. There are many opportunities and you can grow good networks for your future.

The application process is very thorough so make sure you pay attention and answer questions well. Put in the effort when applying and you will be rewarded with a job! The interview was an hour long but this went by really quickly.
