  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in the Private Client Bristol team. My work closely with both colleagues in Bristol and the other regional Private client team. As an assistance tax advisor, I assist individuals both on a compliance and advisory basis. During the run up to January, we help our clients complete their tax returns. Throughout the rest of the year we advice our clients on a number of matters which include company liquidations, share disposal and residence tax issues.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured and you attend your first college classes with your peers in the other offices. This allows you to feel supported and allows the opportunity to network. I feel the programme could be improved by providing more guidance (i.e. a timetable) at the start so you are aware of when the exams are scheduled.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We go to college at Kaplan. I feel Kaplan provide good support and the tuition is easy to understand. They have a online website which provides mock papers, and topic assessment tests. This allows you to practise and highlights the areas which require further work. You are able to contact Kaplan and request further support, even when you have completed college.
