  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in R&D tax on the costing side as a first year school leaver. On a day to day basis I work with a lot of data, manipulating it into usable formats where line items can be categorised into qualifying or non qualifying categories to strip out the data we don't need. Regular client meetings and internal meetings. Fully responsible for making sure my work adheres to the standards set by EY.

  • 9b. Why?
  • The reputation the company holds and continues to uphold is of a really high standard and in less than a year I can see why. I enjoy working within my team and despite the hours sometimes being long in busier periods of the year, the work is relatively stress-free.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Apply early! Prepare for your interviews and assessment days and express yourself during them. Ey want to see your personality rather than just how smart a person is. That's the way to create the most diverse and effective workforce.
