Store Apprentice Review

Here at Aldi I am currently a Store Apprentice. My daily tasks involve working stock being on the tills. I am responsible for making sure that we have everything on sale at all times to maximize our profits. I will train to be a manager in the 2nd and 3rd year of my apprenticeship and i can't wait for this.

I have developed many skills working with Aldi, mainly my time management and my customer service. I have learnt how to efficiently use my time and therefore accomplish as many goals as possible within a small period of time. I have also managed my financial situation pretty well dealing with my apprentice wage as well as my outgoings.

I enjoy my programme immensely as the work itself is good fun, the team I work with have been so open, lovely and friendly at work. One great thing about working with Aldi is the company culture, since they work extremely efficiently and effectively; highly passing my expectations before i started working here. I would give this a 9/10

I feel like I am a very important part of the team, I have been trained well by the managers and learnt a lot, I also feel respected by the store assistants as they know I will soon be training in my management so I feel like an important member of the team overall in my current situation.

I think as a whole it is well organised but there could be a few improvements to it as I don't understand what's actually happening at the end of this first year with the college that I am working with and neither do the other apprentices I know. During working in the store we can't complain with how we are moved around and dealt with.

Initially I only had a bit of support but when we made arrangements she was inconsistent with turning up. My manager has now changed my training provider which shows that Aldi can deal with problems and come up with a solution effectively. Hopefully this one will be better but so far i can't really comment.

Any questions or queries I have I'm not afraid to ask and at Aldi we have been told about temwork so we know that helping each other within our apprenticeships is really essential. If you do a well with a task then management are usually good at praising your work and also giving constructive criticism to allow you to grow as well.

Despite being well-paid as far as an apprentice goes, being a 20 year old, I have found it difficult to meet costs with my current salary. The problem mainly being travel costs and I currently work 20 miles away from home. However as a whole, for an apprenticeship we are excellently paid so for a future plan i am thinking about renting a flat closer to work.

There is the Aldi benefits programme that gives me money off shopping in many stores across the UK which is a great insentive and prospect to the job however it's pretty much earnt money from the business being put back in. I can also get money off things such as the gym and other leisure activities in the local area.

If you are a hard working person who enjoys a fast paced challenging job, then you will love Aldi. The team spirit of the company makes you so happy in your job and motivates you to work harder to help the company reach its full potential. I love my job and I'm sure many other members of staff feel the same way.

Take any opportunity you can to get a job in Aldi. You won't regret it. Be keen to work and help the company succeed. I would also recommend the management apprenticeship programme to anybody looking into Aldi Apprenticeships. Ensure you do the best you can during the interview process and also present yourself in a smart way.
