  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a CSA (Client Service Advisor) in AONS APEX team. On a day to day basis I work on client renewals and helping the rest of the team with there work. Over the last month or two I have been getting involved with emailing the clients and working one on one with them which has helped me to learn more about my job role and insurance as a whole.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been studying towards my CII exams and will soon be taking my first one. AON have given me a lot of help and guidence when it has come to my exams and also helped me improve my current skills and learn new ones. I have expanded my skill base when it comes to programmes like Excel and Word and also learnt how to use internal systems.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am really enjoying my programme, there are a lot of other apprentices which I feel has helped me to settle in and feel more comfortable. My team have also provided me with a lot of help and gone out of there way to make me feel welcome and useful. It has exceeded my expectation and I feel that working for a company like AON gives me a big opportunity to try different things and also progress with my career in insurace.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aon?
  • I feel very Valued. From the start I have been given work that can help benifit the company and have been given all the support I could need with that work. My manager and team mates let me know when I have done good work and include me in everthing which makes me feel part of the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very organised, we have sessions to help with our exams, Apprencitce tasks to complete and also things like 3 month reviews to make sure we are staying on track which also allows us to give our feedback.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We are given lots of support including sessions where they come in and teach us and they are also availbe to email whenever we want for help or advise. We have been given all the textbooks we need and also access to websites to do practice tests. I am really enojying it.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve a lot of support from my employers, I have been given a buddy to help me and give me advice. My manager helps me with all my work and has one on ones with me to talk through the insurance that we deal with and help me to learn as quick as possible.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • At this early stage in my career I like the extra independance that my salary gives me however, I have struggled to spread it over the full month on some occassions.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Aon offer community initiatives for the employees to take part in and they also have team building acticities after work.

  • 9. Would you recommend Aon to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that from what I have experienced and what others have told me that AON's Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the best there is. I think that if you work and and put yourself out there then you can get very far from in your career.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
  • Make sure thet you put your all in to applying and throughout the application and interview proccess and if you manage to get on to the scheme then work your hardest and try to impress.
