I work in CGI Contracts and Commercial as a contracts analyst. My role involves of evaluating and implementing opportunities to improve efficiency within the team. Furthermore, I track obligations and deliverables CGI are contracted to and ensure we are meeting this. I also often shadow senior members within my team to help develop my understanding of my role.
I have developed a more analytical mind set during my time at CGI and pay more attention to detail. This is hugely important in my role, where small mistakes can have large implications. I am also more confident as I often have toe engage with senior members of my team.
This programme is very enjoyable to be a part of. There are many opportunities to explore interests within the company. You also develop strong connections with your cohort and there are many social opportunities. Everyone in my team is really friendly and supportive, helping me to succeed.
I feel very valued by CGI. They treat me like a regular employee, despite my age and experience. I am fully immersed within my team and can approach even senior members easily. The benefits package at CGI also shows the value of you as an employee within the company.
The programme is structured well. There is a dedicated student recruitment team, of which many have been through the same programme. They are very supportive and give guidance on how to succeed within CGI. University and work is well balanced and organised as well.
The university provides lots of support to you in your academics. They are very understanding of your work commitments and provide the support needed to complete assignments successfully and to deadlines. Despite only attending university once per week tutors are always willing to help via phone or email.
There is lots of support from CGI which helps you to succeed. You receive a dedicated mentor, who is senior within the company. They provide guidance with career and personal development. You are also assigned a buddy from an upper year in the programme who shares their experiences with you.
The salary meets my costs. I have relocated for this program and therefore I have to pay for rent, bills and food and the salary is sufficient. The salary increases upon graduation which will be very good. The benefit package is very good
