My job title is a Junior Test Analyst, I am currently working on a Smart Metering project where I am able to interact with my team and also run certain tests to ensure when the project is complete, everything is working up to standard.
As of yet, I have not been on any training courses with the company, however the amount of skills I have learnt since joining is crazy. I have learnt how to complete test runs in different environments, as I am completing my degree I have learnt so much about how to manage my time efficiently. Working towards deadlines means it is key to complete my work at university.
I am enjoying my programme so much, this is the best career move I could have made. I am enjoying my project work and university work even though it is challenging at some points.
I feel of excellent value to CGI, as I am fairly new I have only received recognition on my project and in my probation meeting. I am hoping more will come soon.
I feel that in the work place, my programme has been very well structured. Thorough training had been provided as well as a good induction from the student recruitment team. I feel that at some points university could be more structured and some more guidance offered. My mentor provided by CGI has also been amazing, meeting up with me weekly for chats.
I feel that I do need a fair amount of support for university studies, not so much in the workplace. As again I am very new I am still learning the strings, but I am enjoying it so much so far.
Both my manager and the HR team are excellent with the support they give, I know I am always welcome to report any problems to any of these members. The HR team have an open door policy and I have gone to them previously to have a chat with them if I am unsure about anything. The guidance given is excellent.
I feel that the salary package provided by CGI is reasonable good, I am spending a lot of money on travel to my base location but other than this it is very good.
The company provide a lot of company events and activities which you are able to do, as I have been busy with other activities since starting CGI I have not had the chance to take part in any, however a lot of my colleagues in CGI do.
Yes
I would recommend CGI to anyone, this being the amount I have learnt and benefits which I have received from CGI are excellent.
I would give people the tip to both be confident and also to be yourself when applying, this way you will do great.
