Broadly speaking, I am an apprentice project manager for CGI. I am currently working with a major client of theirs where I carry out some PMO work as well as software testing of different kinds.
Better organisational skills, good idea of the company's structure and policies, training courses will be provided for my job specifically also.
I enjoy it a lot because I like the amount of responsibility I'm given. My team around me are very advanced and I'm glad I was put in it as I am sure I'll pick up loads of knowledge about project management and IT in general.
I have only been at CGI since Monday (09/01/17) and so far I have felt much at home. Everyone is very approachable and both my managers have been appreciative of my presence and value it too.
Very well organised and also has a lot of flexibility in it depending on how I feel about where I've been placed.
They support me just as much as I need, and hold meetings with us often enough so that our work is not interrupted too much.
As much as I need and I have been made aware always to ask for help when needed. Everyone is very approachable.
As far as salaries for apprenticeships go, it is very much on the higher end of the spectrum. Thus it matches my costs completely fine.
CGI is full of opportunities and these are clearly outlined on our SharePoint. Also, because 4 other apprentices joined at the same time as me and many other apprentices are already present, everyone is close and organises events.
Yes
I have really enjoyed my time here, I feel valued, and the salary is very good also.
CGI don't look for extensive knowledge in IT or years of experience. Instead they look for people with good social skills and a desire to learn so my advice would be to be yourself during the whole application process and if it's meant to be, it will be.
