  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is within resourcing and recruitment along with being on secondment to some projects within the company. my day to day job is welcoming new starts into the company, doing their inductions and ensuring that they can set up their laptops and that they can access everything they need. I help out on one of our big projects doing invoice reporting.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Excel - how to use different formulas for different things in excel.# Word - how to word letters to outside companies sophisticatedly Email - how to properly write emails and ensure that they are not too blunt but not over whelming with information. I received my business administration qualification and also learned a lot of personal traits about myself - like I learn better by doing things myself rather than being shown.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as my team are great to work with, the company are always supportive of everything you do. They always ensure you are getting what you need from your job.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by CGI?
  • I feel valued at CGI as I have skills that are needed for reporting and ensuring that we meet project expectations. I also feel valued as I am given a lot of responsibility when dealing with new starts.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme is well structured. We were given all the training and support from day one that we needed. we also attended an induction week in Reading that gave us a lot of information about CGI as a whole and how things work. We are always given time for studying and course work.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • QA are always on hand when you need them and always there if you are stuck with anything. They always ensure that you get the best from the training weeks and make sure that we understand everything before we leave the training centre.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • CGI always ensure that our jobs are meeting the expectations of our apprenticeships and we have enough evidence for our course work. they also always ensure that we go to training weeks and get enough time to study.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary meets all my costs and the expenses scheme is good also. being able to expense travel to other offices helps a lot as it means that I am not at a loss. I am able to live off my wages, afford my car and also looking after myself and my dog.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • CGI always have something happening outside work that you can participate in. There is always volunteering and sports and social activities to participate in.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its a good environment to work in, they are supportive of you and your studies. They also are very flexible. They understand their employees and support them, even outwidth work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to CGI?
  • Be yourself as CGI don't just look at employability skills, they look at the person you are and what you are capable. How your people skills are as we are a client facing company and work close with our clients.
