Currently my day to day role is involved in the Operations team for the Central Government and Justice Business Unit. I'm involved in many different types of reporting.
Over the past year and a half, I have learnt many different new skills in the workplace, including excel skills and people skills. I have also been on a Mental health First Aid course which was very useful.
Currently I am enjoying the programme, as I am enjoying my current role in the workplace and I also like going to university as I have a good group of friends.
I do feel valued at CGI. My manager is great and I feel like her and other team member value my opinion and work efforts. I also have a good support network to help me out if I need it.
The programme is relatively well structured, with good induction training and support from our resourcing managers to help us find roles and get us off the bench.
I receive a good amount of support from the University of Winchester. We have an overall programme leader who is willing to help us out and also module leaders to help us with specific modules.
I also receive a good amount of support from CGI. I have a big support network that includes my line manager, my career manager, my buddy, and my career mentor. All who help me when I have a problem.
Currently my salary meets my costs, as thankfully my living costs are relatively low. I do know however that those who have had to relocate struggle a bit more than me.
There have been a number of opportunities outside of work, my favourite was when I took part in the UK Challenge in July last year. This was a 3 day team adventure challenge where we took part in a number of exercises in a competition against other companies. It was great fun.

It's a great opportunity for those who are not sure whether to go to ordinary university or not, as it enables you to study for a degree whilst also gaining valuable work experience and a salary.
Make sure that you prepare well for the assessment centre, practice for the interview and group exercises as they were the hardest bit. Be yourself and try not to get too nervous!
