I am completing my Apprenticeship at Superdrug in the job role of a Team Leader already. Daily tasks include putting on the tills in the morning, filling out the Weekly Audit Document (WAD) and filling in all the paperwork, and filing it away. Other than being on the till, I ensure the shop is always tidy, the shelves are filled and I always interact with customers, saying who I am, and if they would like any help, and if not, to give me a shout if they do find themselves struggling. Responsibilities on the till and on the shop floor, also include registering Health and Beauty cards to as many customers as possible, explaining their benefits and what treats they can get with a registered card. My evening roles include cashing up, banking and completing the safe check and being able to identify any problems, and be able to fill in the paperwork correctly, and store away all the paperwork, for the morning routine.
I am a fully signed off Team Leader at Superdrug so I have learnt a new way in which Superdrug do things to what Savers did. I have had to learn everything from scratch. I got signed off my team leader book in April, after only starting at Superdrug at the end of January. But I have picked everything up with great speed, and feel very confident in what I do and how I do them.
I thoroughly enjoy everything about my role. My team members are always there to help me out and are some of the greatest people I have worked with. The company offers me so many choices. It exceeded my expectations, as I have learnt so much and grown as a person. The Apprenticeship has allowed me to get the job I was wanting, and after finishing and being signed off my Team Leader booklet, I will be going for a Management course next year in January, and move up the ladder even further. I've enjoyed every second.
I feel exceptionally valued by every single team member. Reviews from management every few months allows me to know what my strengths are weaknesses are, and allows me to get better at my role. Team Time at work also proves that my team values me, as they mention things that I have done since I started working here, which makes them feel better at work, and due to my way of doing things, a lot of team members value that, and appreciate my effort.
The programme is very organised and structured, in the fact that the induction was easy to follow and simple to understand. Training is always being updated, so you can never fall behind. Support from management and team members is always there and if I'm struggling, I know someone will be able to help me. Tasks are always shared out equally, and delegated to the right person, who may be stronger in that role than someone else. And within our team, no one looks down on one another. We are all good friends and can have a laugh, but when it comes down the job, we always strive to be the best.
Any help that I need, I know my training provider will always offer her guidance. As well as the internet and my apprenticeship workbook and notes, I believe I have received the best support. Any issues I have had, my training provider has always understood and given me extra time, just to ensure the best was provided for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
