  • My job title is a trainee associate. Our role is to take part in the financial audit of companies and perform procedures which go towards the final opinion. These daily tasks consist of the following: testing of balances, performing substatative procedures, walk through of processes, collecting evidence for material balances, requesting confirmation on third parties, meeting with clients and asking questions.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My presentation skills have definitely improved. I have had to perform a few presentations during my time and from this practise, the way I present myself and the confidence I gained from this was a skill I learnt. I've also gained a lot of confidence during my time from the interaction with senior people at clients.

  • I mainly enjoy working with the people at EY. Everyone is so friendly which makes work so much easier. The company culture is the best I've experienced. EY focus a lot on their culture which I believe is fantastic. The only down side is the hours during busy season.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My costs are high as I have to flat share with a friend. It's quite challenging as obviously I'm young and on a low salary compared to people who have their own places. The salary would comfortably meet costs if I lived with my parents but unfortunately this isn't possible.
