  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have now completed the Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (CFAB) qualification and will shortly be beginning ATT. I have received several internal study sessions to help me to understand how to prepare a tax return and tax reconcillation calculation and how to use our internal systems. My confidence has improved dramatically by working with different teams and managers.

  • I really enjoy working with a wide range of people with different experience and skills. The company offer a very open structure as to how you can develop and move through the ranks. Any expectations that I had, about the work I would be doing and how I would be encouraged and welcomed into my teams, have been exceeded.

  • I feel that my managers are very appreciative of the work I complete. Consently give me feedback as to work work I have done well and any areas that I could improve and try to push me to increase the amount of technical work I do and try to bridge the gap between a school leaver and a graduate.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The traning and induction into the programme was structured extremely well and has allowed a connection between the co-ordinators and school leavers to be created. As the first intake on the programme receiving information and confirmation onto the next progression has been slow but this has been improving as we move further through the course. Managers and team members have been really supportive in allowing time to study and complete exams and answering any questions to help us pass.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Whilst on course, the tutors have been really supportive and go the extra mile to ensure that you understand the course material as well as complete work to the correct standard. It has always been made aware that we are able to contact them once courses have finished up until the exam encase any further issues have come up. The training environment created from bringing all school leavers together to study was really motivating.

  • 9b. Why?
  • The experience and opportunity at EY is something that shouldn't be missed. The staff are really supportive towards the programme and you feel very valued as a memeber of their team.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • The application process is extremely fast so ensure that you are ready to receive a response quickly and be requested to come into the office for an assessment day.
