  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I developed my organisational skills and consistency throughout continuous BAU tasks

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Enjoying the hands on approach and being tasked with activities that other team members get regularly involved/ it's part of their responsibilities. It helps me to understand and truly learn what the project management role is really about and get the support I need.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The project/programme is well structured, but there are some activities which are done slightly differently. I enjoy this approach as it helps me to be more resilient and adaptable whilst tasks and activities are done in a way that suits best for particular project and supports efficiency.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I can always count on my team and their support when needed. I enjoy their approach to let me figure out things on my own first as I find it it is the best way to learn for me. My sponsor and career team are also welcoming and approachable.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a good support from the training providers and sessions are mostly clear. But at the beginning there were some confusions and I found support being bit inconsistent between trainers (some would be more approachable than others).

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not sure. I'm confident the qualifications I am acquiring will definitely help me with my future career prospects and help me perform better. However this is based on qualifications I aim to complete, rather than training provider.

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, I'm also able to engage in STEM activities or other networking events

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babcock to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Babcock offers great flexibility which helps me a lot with a work life balance. I feel supported at all times, even if it is someone I haven't met before. People are approachable and welcoming. My team supports me with my qualifications and is looking for ways or tasks that will help me progress further.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Ask many questions and be curious about how the things are done and why. There is no stupid questions. Be eager to learn more and ask for tasks, to oversee meetings or offer help if you hear your team working on something specific. It gives you opportunity to expand your knowledge and understand full picture better. And you show your team you're keen and interested so they are more eager to build relationships with you. It's a win win!
