  • I am a receptionist, I complete many tasks including checking in and checking out guests. Taking payments whether card/cash. Amend bookings, answer calls, answer any queries, deal with complaints. Assist with housekeeping. Guest data.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, learnt a new system which has been rolled out across all premier inn hotels, learnt more in depth hospitality from being on my level 2 apprenticeship and also learning currently management roles and have joined a programme to assist with this.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy it, my coach is really great and really pushes me to the best of my ability, very supportive. The apprenticeship has also taught me a lot to boost my confidence within my job role.

  • It is very well organised and structured, with lots of support to hand whenever you need it.

  • Because it’s a positive and friendly environment, you get a lot of support whether you want to go further or remain as your job role the support is there.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread?
  • Just be yourself and be great at working as a team but also be just as great working independently. Be a great communicator and be positive.
