  • I'm a hotel receptionist and this involves checking guests in and out, dealing with their requests/issues before, during and after their stay, working with computer system, answering phone calls and emails, helping out housekeeping when necessary.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a lot of new skills needed for my role thanks to apprenticeship. For example, how to efficiently deal with complaints, build a rapport with customers, how to communicate with guests that show anti-social behaviour to avoid escalating the situation etc.

  • I think it couldn't be better.

  • Perfectly organised in time and structure. I have enough time to complete all my tasks and keep up with the preparation for my exams.

  • It does help me a lot in my role! Especially with the skills, knowledge and behaviours I learn from my training and use at work.

  • I would recommend Whitbread to someone who is looking to learn and progress withing a hospitality industry as this company does truly give you all the tools and opportunities for it.
