  • My role involved assisting the Hotel Manager ensuring compliance with sanitation, hygiene, health and safety legislation and organisational and quality requirements and working policies and procedures.

  • Yes, I’ve learned many new things since I started in this new role, like payroll management, Employee relations, F& B compliance, among others

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the program although sometimes is hard to manage the apprenticeship while working full time in the hotel, sometimes long hours of work don’t allow me to dedicate fully to the activities in the apprenticeship

  • It is well organised, we have our platform that allows us to see the activities in a calendar plus all the courses completions

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive help when I need, when the manager is not around there is always information in our organisation platform (Sharepoint) or our Academy Online available.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We speak every couple of months via zoom to review how I’m doing and review different subjects from the course. I have the contact details in case I need additional support.

  • Gives me more confidence on my day to day job

  • Great Ormond Street Hospital marathons or charity walks for the employees of the company

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a big company with a lot of opportunities for development, courses and perks. With many different locations for either Hotel careers or F&B related ones .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread?
  • To start with their Academy Online courses as soon as possible to get the hang of their job duties, the courses and the videos are very complete.
