  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work at Computacenter as an apprentice software developer, mostly developing T-SQL. I am responsible for writing and building code, identifying areas that can be improved and Participating with BAU (Business as usual). During all of this I collaborate with my team and interacted with customers that are requesting work that need to be completed.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • improved on my T-sql skills (along with other programming languages), communication skills when collaborating with my team members and improving my organization skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Loving my program , how it works together with the learning side and actually implementing my skills learnt on my apprenticeship into my day to day work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • my programme is well structed and I have monthly check ups to see how I have working towards my goals.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have been assigned 2 mentors from my employer i.e a day to day mentor and technical mentor, to help me with my work to do on a day to day basis. Who are both very supportive and have regular check ups.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Great support from my training provider, whenever I have an issue towards my work I can send them and email and they will let me know how to tackle my issue and even suggest what I can improve on.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has given me a better structure to my work making me approach my work in a better manner.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been to a couple networking events for my apprenticeship which was great to attend. Also I have attended some team meals that occur when there are special events occurring.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The support that you receive once on the programme is great. The team are always offering help and it is a great work environment to be part of.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
  • Be enthusiastic as possible, and just be yourself!
