  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I’m currently working in the configuration department where I am setting up several types of devices for several different customers. I’ll soon by going to the other department where I will be doing repairs and installations.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt about the different IT concepts such as how to boot and setup devices. I’ve also improved my core skills such as communication and also attention to detail.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think there is still so much more for me to learn but I’m really happy with what I’ve done so far. For the time I’ve been here I’ve come a long way and greatly developed a range of skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme that I am doing is quite new to the department so I understand that everything may not be as structured as they wanted. This is partly because of unexpected changes to the programme from the training provider.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive tons of support from everyone in the company. Whether that be my colleagues or my manager or the apprenticeship staff. I never feel worried when I ask a question and everyone is very helpful when I do have one.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training mentor is very helpful and shows a real eagerness for us to genuinely do well. As someone whose aiming to get the best grade possible, it’s really helpful to have someone whose constantly pushing me to get the best grades possible

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification that I am doing directly links to what I am doing at work so sometimes when I see something new at work it will be on the qualification course work majority of the time.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There have been a couple different activities but I feel as though this is one area of my specific programme that is lacking. I think that going out to more customer sites and see how computacenter are setup there would be insightful.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Computacenter to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A great place to work and grow. As someone who has never worked in a corporate role before, having people around you who will support you and help you grow is exactly what you need and that’s what computacenter have done.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Computacenter?
  • I would suggest them to go for it! I have no doubt that computacenter is the best place for me to develop.
