  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. I’ve learnt a lot of accountancy and excel skills which have caused me to be more efficient in my job. I’ve also improved my communication skills through working in a team on a construction project. Everyone contributed in different ways to achieve the same goal.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy my programme. Working towards a degree and having on site experience gives the best of both worlds and I believe i’m receiving a good level pf experience to help me progress in my career as a Quantity Surveyor.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This is structured very well as they provide and academic calendar of when you go to college/university for your block. Therefore, you know when you are on site and when you are at college/university.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot pf support on site and in college/university. They check up on my progress and if I have any issues or queries they are more than happy to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Great level of support. I feel I can talk to them whenever I have a problem or don’t understand something fully.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel the qualifications will help eventually provide more opportunities in my career as I will be more qualified.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yeah 5 a side football once a week. Also people from work go to the gym which you can go in groups with.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAM to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a good structured apprenticeship to help achieve a fully qualified employee. Great range of projects which help an employee receive a good level of experience.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAM?
  • Be willing to move away from home. Try and work well in a team as a construction project is all about working in a team with a variety of different people to achieve an overall goal.
