  • Start the day going through emails. Daily tasks varies depending on your project status. Can consist of, checking drawings, issuing technical submissions, reviewing plant & equipment quotes, engineering meetings, etc.

  • Yes, I’ve leant many new skills during my apprenticeship.

  • I do enjoy the programme however, sometimes I can find it difficult with work, life, uni balance.

  • Regular apprentice catch ups and reviews as required.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • University degree goes above and beyond knowledge required for the role but all very useful information for any Building Services Engineer.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At bam you have many opportunities socially. I completed the three peaks challenge here at bam. Gone to various networking events in other cities, etc.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAM to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Bam has a great work place culture especially for young apprentices where you are given independence but also accountability. They help you develop with your training provider and any gaps in knowledge or extra experience required, they will help facilitate.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAM?
  • Look at Bams project portfolio and research the different roles available within the company. Be honest and show an interest in everything by asking loads of questions.
