  • My main responsibility is procurement and commercial management of subcontract work packages.

  • I have learnt a significant amount about the construction industry from completing training provided by BAM and through communicating with colleagues on my site.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find my program very enjoyable, it can be stressful to balance apprenticeship work with site work, but there are always colleagues to support me.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured, the block release programme allows me to focus on my apprenticeship work away from distractions on site.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a significant amount of support from the early careers team whilst i am completing my apprenticeship and from my colleagues whilst I am on site

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has supported me very well with the epa process and I have benefitted from the small class sizes which allowed me to get a-lot of time with the lecturers

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The level 4 qualification has given me a base understanding of construction processes and practices which I will be able to take into my Level 6 qualification.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a significant amount of social activities which allow me to travel around the UK to see different construction projects and network with different colleagues. I have also had opportunities to meet and network with the leadership team.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAM to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have received all the support I require to complete my apprenticeship. In addition to this the block release programme offered by BAM has given me the opportunity to network with colleagues from around the UK and I was able to focus on my studies during this period.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAM?
  • The leadership team are very easy to communicate with.
