  • My role involves overseeing the planning, implementation and completion of projects while ensuring the highest quality and standards are upheld. On a daily basis this involves leading teams, establishing timelines and budgets, ensuring deadlines are met, resolving any risks and issues that may arise, proactively managing resources and driving development and delivery of the proposed project. It also includes monitoring progress of the project and reporting back to stakeholders, while ensuring the project remains within scope, timescale and budget.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt a considerable amount of new skills from my role , these include problem solving, budgeting and resource planning, relationship building, communications, project management tools and techniques, analytics, logistics and process improvement. Furthermore. I have improved my existing skills in areas such as stakeholder relations, time management and leadership.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my role and I feel very passionate about the projects I am working on. I enjoy the challenge of organising and overseeing so many complex aspects of projects, and the satisfaction of completing a successful project. It is very rewarding being part of a team that works together to produce the best outcome.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My job is well-organised and structured. I have specific goals in mind, as well as a well-defined workflow and job list. In addition, I use project management software like Base camp to better manage project workflow and remain on top of deadlines. All essential stakeholders have been consulted and briefed on the project, and there are effective communication and support mechanisms in place.

  • I receive a great amount of support from my employer. I am provided with resources such as training and project management tools, as well as regular mentoring and guidance when needed. To add on, my employer is continually keeping me up-to-date with best practice techniques and industry news, providing me with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage projects.

  • I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They provide resources such as learning materials, instruction videos, practice questions and mock exams to help me gain the knowledge I need to succeed.I have experienced tutors and mentors who are always available for guidance and assistance, and I can access online tutorials and webinars with industry experts and leaders.

  • The qualification I receive through my training provider has been incredibly beneficial in helping me to perform better in my role. It has provided me with the knowledge and skills I require to succeed and progress further in project management. It has also enabled me to gain a better understanding of the industry, as well as giving me the confidence to apply and use my skills in practice.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work. We have regular social activities such as team-building days, birthday celebrations and company outings. We also do cross-functional team activities which give us the opportunity to collaborate and build relationships with other teams. Furthermore, we have a sports team which plays at lunchtimes and after-work, and we also occasionally attend professional networking events.

  • Yes, I would definitely recommend Combined Technical Solutions to a friend. The company has a supportive and friendly work environment, and I have had the opportunity to grow and build my skills. I have always been encouraged to strive for excellence, take on new challenges and have a voice in my job. Furthermore, I have benefited from engaging extra-curricular activities and enjoyed working with a collaborative and driven team.
