  • My job, which requires frequent interaction with both patients and coworkers. You will frequently be in charge of a variety of tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis. These usually entail conducting eye exams to find vision issues and eye diseases, prescribing ocular pharmaceuticals (eye drops, glasses, or contact lenses), communicating with other medical professionals to refer patients for additional treatment when necessary, and giving advice on vision care, sports vision, and lifestyle decisions that may affect vision. Along with general information and guidance on eye health, you may also offer advise on specialised contact lenses, eye prostheses, and eye surgery.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have had the opportunity to develop and learn new skills such as ocular health screening, ocular pharmacology, managing ophthalmic emergencies, and understanding the latest advances in ophthalmic technology. I have also gained additional experience in patient care, counselling, communication, problem-solving, and IT skills. Developing my interpersonal, clinical and technical skills has been invaluable in providing quality patient care.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme. My job gives me the chance to put the theoretical understanding and expertise I acquired during my studies to use, and working with patients personally is tremendously satisfying. When I am able to accurately pinpoint vision problems or issues with eye health in my patients, I find it to be quite fulfilling. Additionally, working with and getting along with coworkers is a lot of fun.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My course is really well arranged and structured. A daily calendar that clearly outlines all of the obligations and responsibilities I have to fulfill each day enables me to complete my obligations and responsibilities quickly. My coworkers and I are also on the same page because we go over patient notes every day and hold regular meetings.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer offers a lot of assistance. When confronted with difficult clinical circumstances, the team is frequently on hand to offer guidance, respond to inquiries, and offer assurance. My employer also offers me the chance to advance my professional growth through training and certification programmes.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has given me a ton of assistance. I am regularly given access to online tools including tutorials, webinars, and e-learning platforms that help me comprehend the theoretical knowledge behind my work and keep up with the most recent advances in the business. Additionally, my training provider is always ready to respond to my questions and offer helpful criticism.

  • I believe that my education significantly improves how well I do in my job. I now have the information I need to evaluate patients properly, prescribe effectively, and give responsible advice after completing my qualification. Additionally, my education has enabled me to stay abreast of the medical and technological developments that are typical of my field.

  • Yes, I can participate in a variety of extracurricular activities at work. These consist of social gatherings, sporting events, and professional networking opportunities. By taking part in all these activities, I may strengthen my relationships with my peers, learn more about my field, get more perspective, and develop my talents.

  • My advice for those applying to Avery Healthcare Group is to be prepared. Research the types of services they offer and be sure to understand the eligibility criteria for each of these. Have a detailed CV prepared that highlights your qualifications and experience. Additionally, make sure you fully understand the roles and responsibilities of the job you’re applying for and be able to elaborate on that during the interview.
