  • I work on reception greeting visitors, taking phone calls and ensuring the immediate reception area is kept neat and tidy. I also complete general administration tasks including rotas, recruitment, finances, filing and archiving amongst other tasks to keep the care home running smoothly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed my customer service skills and have learnt many different admin skills such as generating invoices, understanding policies, recruitment processes and petty cash reconciliation amongst others. I have also further developed my computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office and communications via email.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying my programme a lot, I have learnt many new skills for business administration and I have been given opportunities to put these skills into practice within my current job.

  • Well structured, I have enough time to complete my assignments to my best ability and I know what to expect.

  • Well supported, I am given plenty of training opportunities to develop my skills.

  • Good support, my questions are answered when I have any and I receive extensive feedback both from assignments and in my tutorials.

  • The qualification has really helped me understand the administration role better and I able to assist the admin with more of her jobs through all the skills I have developed.

  • I will sometimes get involved with events that are put on for residents, families and visitors.
