  • Learning about what the company is about, what they do, how they do it and how to get a job (interviews, cv) in the industry. The experience also involved live webinars from employees at the company that discussed their jobs and how they got to the position in the companies that they are currently in

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your virtual experience?
  • I learnt what you do to be innovative in the modern day engineering industry. It also demonstrated what is needed to work in the finance sector of the company. The programme also showed what is needed to be included in the cv's to join the industry as well as what is needed academically to get there.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your virtual experience?
  • The virtual work experience was very enjoyable as it provided activities that were interacive and fun. The webinars were enjoyable and informative as they offered a perspective into what working with the company is like to its employees. The tips on getting the best start to the industry was very helpful

  • The virtual work experience was well organised as it was split up into manageable sections that included things that were similar and also were able to be done at your own pace whenever you were able to over the time of a month. The different sections were split into categories of what they were about

  • The opening sections of the work experience include what the company does and what it stands for, the company policies and how it achieves its goal for future sustainability. The webinars with employees also explained what working for the company is like and what the company do for its employees

  • The virtual work experience make it clearer what the paths to take if persueing the paths to its seperate careers. It helped show what I needed to do to get to the career I want and the webinars with employees showed the different ways that people got to their current job

  • No payment was received for this virtual work experience. It was not promised bu the company either. No reimbursement was given as the experience was all completed online in the comfort if my house without needing to arrange travel to and from the company in order to arrive back at my home

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • There were frequent webinars that took place in the early days of the virtual work experience going live where you were able to ask questions to the employees about what it is like to work for the company and how they got to the job. However, other than this, there were no other oportunities

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The experience was very valuable in putting clear what it is like to work in the industry whilst being able to do it around studies in school. It will also help them in the application to universities, especially as some of them are interested in following the path in the industry


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • To make sure that they use all of the opportunities that are given to them in the experience as they are all important if they want to follow a career in the sector. It would also to use the webinars fully to learn more about what it is like to work in the company
