  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I visit individuals homes and provide care and support within their homes. This includes personal care, meal prep, medication, companionship, shopping support and trips out. I am a loan worker unless the visit requires a second care worker. I need to stick to my rota and times for good care.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have better learned how to communicate with people from all different walks of life. I have also learned how to be better with my judgement of people as wr care for people in their own homes and they are free to live in a way that suits them best.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love working as a community carer and by applying and being accepted for the level 3 qualification I am able to advance my knowledge and skills to a level that helps me become a senior care assistant and in the future a team lead for the company I work at.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well structured. I am able to access almost all parts of the programme through my phone which enables me to complete prices of work little and often if needed. As I am not required to complete check ins with my tutor in person it work better with my work load.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am currently receiving OK support from my employer. The are providing me with office time as and when needed to allow me to get paid for meetings with my tutor or for when I need time to use a computer. We just need to sort me working as a senior to be able to complete the level 3.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provide are very supportive. I know numbers and emails to enable me to contact those needed if I am stuck or if I need advice. My tutor is very good at replying to messages and emails and when they were signing me up to the level 3 it was very prompt

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This qualification will help me in the future as I wish to progress in the company and be a senior care assistant and a team lead. This will help give me the skills, knowledge and behaviours to better help lead new carers in the way my company runs and works.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work Bluebird offer training and team bonding days or events to allow carers to get together as we are all lone workers and thus don't interact much with each other. There are also opportunities to take customers out on occasions to participate in activities of their own choosing.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Bluebird Care to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Bluebird are extremely supportive and offer great rates of pay for not only hourly work but also travel time and mileage which other companies in the area do not offer. Bluebird are also good in helping with a good work life balance that suits each individual that work for them.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bluebird Care?
  • If you think you would be suited for a caring role, apply. Bluebird give all the training that you need so previous experience is necessary, although it does always help. They are extremely supportive and always at the end of the phone if a problem arises whilst you are at work.
