  • My job role was to serve and handle customers whilst taking on group responsibilities such as ensuring that the team’s morale was maintained at a high because my team is like my family now I was also tasked with making sure that we were always stocked up and that the shop was sparkling as

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have leant to take criticism in a positive rather than taking it personally and as an attack and now I can see it as a good thing to make sure I don’t have any future problems with whatever it was that I done i also learned how to communicate with others and help others with various issues and concerns

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I was in a very difficult place before I started my apprenticeship and I saw it as a glimmer of hope and a second chance of happiness and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I was given and would be happy to tell the world that my apprenticeship saved my life

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I was routinely checked with a member of staff from the apprenticeship program I was working with a lovely gentleman that had nothing but informative conversations and questions and was always genuinely happy to see me I was also provided with a lot of training that helped me a lot because of my learning disability

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am provided with a phone number that gives me support and advice upon receiving my call and they always inform my employer if there are any questions or issues and if there are any issues they would make sure it got sorted I had an issue with the first store I worked at due to poor choice in management no fault of the apprenticeship program of course

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • They always make sure I know what I should focus on and work on so I can achieve my best work ethic and whenever I need help or assistance they are more than happy to provide with the help I need and give genuine support with any issues that may occur

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I left school with very few qualifications and was very scared that I wouldn’t make it far in the world due to my lack of knowledge in school but I soon realised that the skill I learn outside in the real world are the ones that people really need

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • My work is like a family like I said before we have all build a fantastic relationship and genuinely like to be in each-others company and care for one another so we all arrange activities and look forward to them we all love to go out and get to know everyone better

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pret to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because if it wasn’t for Pret I wouldn’t be here anymore I was a troubled teenager and had a very rough time through school and left early sad alone and confused and I started looking for apprenticeships to try give myself a somewhat good CV and I was embarrassed to send it to companies but Pret gave me a chance when no others would


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pret?
  • Be prepared to laugh until you cry and make sure you know a lot of jokes but in a serious note the jobs in Pret create skills that will help in the real world it gives you skills that no teacher in a school ever could do if you ever feel uneducated or like you aren’t enough jobs at Pret will make you the person you want to be
