  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job role is customer service, an overview of my job is that I am on the phones to customers who need help with questions or issues with their sage 50 payroll product, I have to answer the phones to customers that call through and help them with them, when they call through I have to go through DPA to make sure that they are able to call us and I also have to find out if there are issues in under 15 mins.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned many new skills in this role. I have developed my IT skills and my team working/ communication skills, my IT skills have grown with being on the phone to customers helping them with issues related payroll linked with their PC, my communication skills have gotten better as I now know how to articulate myself to help customers understand me better when on the phone.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my job as it has made me understand what I really want my future to look like. The company has made me understand what opportunities I will have in this job role or what I can have in other roles and what it means for me.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very organised and structured as in my job role I have targets to achieve and if I am not meeting my targets I am able to devise a plan to stay more focused and aware of what I should be hitting, to make sure I am working to the best of my ability in my job.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive so much support from my employer, we get as much training as we need and can get more if we need it down the line, we get any resources that we may need to use when on the phones or off the phones and we always have someone to go to if we have any questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive so much support from my training provider when I am working towards my qualification. If I have any questions about it, I can ask them at any time and if I need to be shown how to do something, I have the support as soon as I need it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like my qualification will help me in my role as I will have the experience and help that I need before I am fully in the role so when it comes to doing it properly I will be ready and be able to succeed in the role at the time to my best potential.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are extra-curricular activities to get involved in at my work for example sports teams to get involved in with your collages after office hours and there are professional networking events to get involved in all the time to learn new information about the business and what else you might be interested in.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a really good way to gain experience in any job role as the support that you get is unlike anything I have seen before and it is a really understanding company to work for, and they are really fair to their employees, it is also a really nice environment to work in as everyone around you is really nice.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • To apply yourself as much as you can as you will benefit the best in the job role and it will be noticed when you meet your targets and are going above and beyond in your role to others that you work with or work for and will be rewarded for it.
